Expungements

Expungements

Oregon law allows you to file motions with the court to set aside convictions after several years have passed, assuming you have met all court requirements. This mechanism allows you, if eligible, to clear your criminal record. This process requires you to get fingerprints, have Lissa draft the documents, and get them filed with the court. If the DA opposes the expungement, then the court will hold a hearing. If the DA does not oppose, then the judge will issue an order setting aside your conviction and clearing your record.

This process can help if you are preparing to apply for jobs, undergo background checks, or simply want your criminal record from years ago to be cleaned.

Lissa can do expungements for you in a cost-effective manner and guide you through the process. Alternatively, she can do a consult with you to explain the process so you can go forward and file the documents on your own.

Only certain crimes are eligible, and certain time periods must have passed before you can file documents to get your convictions set aside. Lissa can help you determine if you are eligible, and how to proceed.
